Exterior Door Sizing Guide
Understanding door sizing:
Nominal size is the commonly referred to size of the door slab within the industry. This number is the closest even number to the actual size, similar to how a 2x4 is actually 1.5”x3.5”
Actual size refers to the actual size of the door slab without the frame.
Assembled size refers to the actual size of the entire prehung door with the frame included.
To properly measure your door you should open the door and simply measure the door slab. Measuring the frame isn’t necessary except for the jamb width, this size should either be 4-9/16” or 6-9/16”.

All of our door come standard with a 4-9/16” jamb, if you require a 6-9/16” jamb please contact us.
Throughout the industry doors have standardized sizing. It is extremely rare to have door that can’t be replaced with a standard door.
